Hydrogen Powered Tesla ?

Tesla's official Master Plan Part 3 outlines a significant role for hydrogen in long-duration, grid-scale energy storage and industrial applications, but it explicitly excludes its use for powering passenger cars.

Tesla's Position on Hydrogen
Grid-Scale Storage: In the detailed analysis accompanying Master Plan Part 3, Tesla's modeling suggests that in a fully sustainable energy economy for the United States, hydrogen would provide a substantial portion of the country's long-duration stationary energy storage capacity. This is because lithium-ion batteries are better suited for daily cycling and quick-response power, while hydrogen can handle the kind of seasonal, long-term storage that batteries are less suited for.
Industrial Applications: The plan also identifies a need for "green" hydrogen in specific high-temperature industrial processes, such as the production of steel and fertilizer, which currently rely on fossil fuels.
Not for Transport: Tesla's strategy for passenger transport remains firmly rooted in battery-electric vehicles due to their superior efficiency. The Master Plan does not include any provisions for hydrogen fuel cell cars. Tesla CEO Elon Musk has historically been a vocal critic of hydrogen as a passenger vehicle fuel, though the official plan acknowledges its necessity for specific infrastructure needs.
