Ok we've moved! Please like us on our Cloverdale Certified Farmers Market page. Also don't forget your bags and baskets this Friday at 5:30 for the start of a great market season!
Our Market is currently held from mid-June through early September in conjunction with the popular Friday Night Live, a summer-long free concert series sponsored by the Cloverdale Arts Alliance.
Purpose The purpose of the Cloverdale Certified Farmer's Market (CCFM) is to plan, create, and maintain in Cloverdale, a Certified Farmers Market, for the benefit of both producers and consumers, bringing high quality, reasonably priced produce to customers. We also strive to improve and revitalize the downtown area while providing a safe place for people to gather and socialize. Through increasing the local resident's access to fresh food, we hope to give consumers the opportunity to develop relationships with local growers, raise awareness about the food system and promote healthy eating habits. However, a farmer's market will not succeed unless growers are able to make a profit, despite the good intentions of market organizers to promote other goals. Current Trends Consumers trends are showing an ever-increasing demand for fresh, healthy, locally grown food. Currently, there is a trend to expand the term "market" to include more than farm and agricultural products. Many markets now include educational components to encourage a wider customer base. Adding special events are ways to bring customers to the market and keep them there longer. Customers prefer a festival type atmosphere, fast-paced, diversity of offerings, and a family event. Vendors Our farmers include local and regional farmers. Our farmer's market is a Certified Farmer's Market - all produce and agricultural products sold at the market are certified to be grown in California. We have a small hand-picked group of local artists and crafters participating in the market, as well as a limited amount of prepared food that can be eaten at the event. In addition, there are a small number of non-profit organizations participating on a rotating basis. Timing and Location Out market is currently held from mid-June through early September in conjunction with the popular Friday Night Live, a summer-long free concert series sponsored by the Cloverdale Arts Alliance. The market is located in downtown Cloverdale, adjacent to the town Plaza and is held on Friday nights from 6:30 p.m. till dark.
