S&S disaster prevention kit installed on a 2013 F-350 6.7L powerstroke. This kit helps protects your truck from the notorious CP4 high pressure fuel pump failure. Usually, when the CP4 pump fails it sends metal shards throughout the entire fuel system causing not only the pump to fail, but contaminates the fuel lines, fuel injectors, and fuel tank as well. This kit stops that contaminating metal from going throughout the rest of system by simply filtering it, saving the customer thousands of dollars in the event of a CP4 failure. Oil cooler on my own personal truck, truck would see high oil temps on the highway (220-234°F) with a coolant temperature of 196°F. You usually never want to see the engine coolant temp and oil temp 10°F from each other. Also known as a “10° delta”. Once removed found a bunch of rust in the cooling system which clogged the oil cooler causing the high EOT. The way to eliminate most of the rust is by installing a coolant filtration system and running ELC rated coolant, which will eventually filter out most of the rust preventing another oil cooler failure. Also while I was 5 hours deep in the valley I removed the IPR (injection pressure regulator) and put a new screen on it and checked to see if the HPOP (high pressure oil pump) has had a upgraded STC fitting which is a high failure rate part on these 6.0L powerstrokes. Now with everything back together and replaced with all new ford oem parts, the EOT&ECT are spot on. DM, CALL, OR TEXT if you need any help or service with your powerstroke diesel.
