Farming Fun Facts!

With Halloween just around the corner, eating candy (or maybe trying to avoid eating it) is on everyone’s mind. Did you know that cattle can eat candy too? The starch and sugar in corn makes up a large part of a feed ration so leftover candy, bound for a landfill, can be eaten by cattle just like corn. This is a win-win for candy companies, cattle feeders, and the environment. Cattle help eliminate food waste by upcycling products that would otherwise end up in a landfill and convert them into a delicious and high-protein product, beef! Cattle really are amazing.

Do your part: HELP PROTECT TENNESSEE'S AGRICULTURE!

From the Tennessee Department of Agriculture:

We are aware that Tennessee citizens are receiving seeds in the mail from other countries that they did not order.

Imported plant materials—including seeds—go through rigorous testing and inspection to ensure they are not carrying any plant disease or pests and do not pose any threat to our environment and health.

The Tennessee Department of Agriculture is working with our partners at USDA'S Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) to determine what should be done with these seeds.

We expect to have more information soon.

In the meantime, if you receive seeds you did not order, do not plant or handle them. Seal the seeds into two (2) plastic sandwich bags and hang onto them until we receive guidance from APHIS.

You can also report to www.aphis.usda.gov/…/import-inform…/sa_sitc/ct_antismuggling.

General information

Montgomery Farmers' Co-op was chartered over 65 years ago as a business that local farmers/owners could rely upon to provide the services and products they needed to successfully run their farms and manage their lands. In addition to providing those services and products, it gave those farmers/owners an outlet for their commodities and products. Today, Montgomery Farmers' Co-op is still local & continues to provide the same quality products, services, and knowledge that our farmers have relied on for over six decades to EVERYONE with a need, no membership required.

So, I reckon after the time and money spent for the awesome education and great experiences with learning all about the Pinnacle feeds, I for one along with the many others in this town, find it to be a very good nutritional and economical product, and I am going to stand behind these products I became educated and used, as well as trusted since it came about in Lavergne. If it ain't broke don't fix it. Price point, not adding extra junk along with it and feeding amounts are just some of the benefits. Horses don't need to be switched up on feed they do fine on, and for sure a feed that isn't even produced by the co-op. Where is the loyalty anymore with this cooperative? Good luck with this new feed, they were also involved in a lawsuit a few years back. I am proud to know first hand all about the pinnacle feed, the ingredients, and where and how its made. This is Clarksville, you get rid of the pinnacle feed and most horse customers will be going to rural king for something else they can afford but won't be like pinnacle. Then they may as well buy the sweet feed from there too. Rant over. I am just loyal to the co-op feed, and the co-op. Spider Monkey..wth??!!
Great pricing and super friendly service from the car care center. Robert and his crew professional and knowledgeable.
