Rod'spost.
My 1st car was a ‘57 Fairlane 500 2dr Hardtop.
My dad and I built the car together. I started on it when I was 12 and drove it for the 1st time to my high school graduation. the day of my graduation it was at the exhaust shop having a custom exhause done while we were bolting the seats in it. I’m now 49 and the car only has 11,000 miles on it, still runs, and looks great.
So, my father, Gerald William Olmsted, owner of Hilltop Classics for 47 years, wanted to build himself a ‘57 for a long time after mine was done. He found one, started on it in 2014, changing it to 4 wheel disc brakes and rack and pinion power steering.
However, he went to be with the Lord 11/13/2015 and never completed his project.
Today, 9/10/22, dads car was delivered here, to North Carolina. It’s now my son, Joshua William Olmsted’s project for his 1st car.
My dad and I built my 1st car, now his son and his grandson are going to build his car for his grandson. Here we are taking it off the tow truck and putting it in the garage. Dad, we’ll finish your project!
Thanks to Julie Watson-Olmsted and Patrick Watson for gettingnit ready in California to ship here and to Jeff for bringing it for us. Love you all!
