Every late summer, DOT inspectors pull out the microscopes, and this year, their crosshairs are locked directly on brake drums and air disc rotors.

Last year, over 15% of inspected rigs were placed Out-of-Service for brake violations. Across Missouri, inspectors are actively hunting for:
✅ Cracked or broken drums from heavy summer heat
✅ Heavily rusted rotors or deep metal-to-metal grooves
✅ Out-of-adjustment pushrods and air leaks

Whether you’re hauling prize livestock down to Sedalia or dragging the family camper out for a weekend at the lake, the highways are packed with heavy loads this month.

Nothing kills a fair weekend or a livestock run faster than a seized wheel bearing or a blown trailer tire on the side of the highway. When you combine max payload weights with 90-degree August asphalt, your trailer running gear gets pushed to the absolute limit.
