What Does a Starter Do?
The starter motor is what gets your engine running. When you turn the key or push the start button, the starter engages and cranks the engine. By activating a gear connected to the crankshaft, the starter motor turns the engine over and sets everything in motion. Signs of a failing starter include:
Clicking noise when trying to start the car
Engine not turning over
Intermittent starting issues
Lights come on but engine won’t start
That rapid clicking sound many people associate with a dead battery is actually the starter relay failing due to insufficient voltage from the battery. If you’re hearing clicks but getting no action from the engine, it’s often a clue that your starter—or the power getting to it—needs attention.
Starter failure can mimic battery issues, so accurate diagnosis is key to solving the problem. 773625500 Spark auto service Portage Park Neighborhood Association Norridge-Harwood Heights News Irving Plaza
