A Classic Back on the Streets.

This beautiful BMW 2002 TII Came in with a blown engine. Throughout the teardown, we continuously found more and more problems. Rod journals all measured differently and way below even the maximum allowable tolerances. The cylinder walls were polished smooth instead of crosshatched for good ring sealing. The compression rings were gapped incorrectly, some as large as .4mm(calls for .02mm). Broken rocker arms in the valve train and much more! It has a freshly rebuilt engine, including rods, an oil pump, rocker arms, ARP head, and main studs. It is a new distributor from Ireland Engineering. This little piece of history is ready to hit the road, along with all new fluids, a complete multipoint to find any other issues, and a custom threaded shift nob so it doesn’t keep coming off while driving. Everyone meet Zach!

Zach is one our performance specialists. He has loads of experience in the automotive realm. With tons of experience at dealerships like Dodge, Nissan, Ford, etc.

Zach has joined us here at Charlie’s Automotive Performance with an open mind and positive attitude. His interest in the performance world and excitement for growth makes him an excellent addition to our team.

Zach currently (not much longer) owns an RX-8 and his dream car is the Evo 8 MR. During his free time he plays video games and he owns a Snake named Ari! If you come visit us at the shop she’s hanging out in the front office with Galil :)

Hey guys!

We’ve been pretty darn busy with big projects on the cars we have in right now. Figured I’d give you all an update!

If you haven’t been keeping up with our stories here’s some things going on; the Tacoma has gotten some cosmetic upgrades, the CRX trans has gone in, the cam for the Camaro is moving along, a new exhaust has been installed in the A4 and the oil pan has been replaced, NSX is having some wiring issues but that’s moving forward as well. Lastly, the 2002tii starts now! Big progress after rebuilding the engine.

Make sure you guys are following and sharing so you can keep up with everything! It’s chaotic and stressful but so much fun. We’re planning on doing some fun POV’s soon so stay tuned for that👀

Everyone say hi to Katie!

Katie is one of our service writers and our customer service manager! She has worked in customer service for many, many years so she is THE perfect fit. Her patience and skills when it comes to handling complicated tasks and issues are impressive to say the least.

Katie enjoys paddle boarding when it’s warm out (thank goodness it’s getting warmer), reading psychology books, the occasional video game, and knitting. (Also her cooking is amazing, don’t tell her I said that)

You can typically find Katie up front, either writing tickets, answering calls, or helping out anywhere she is needed.

We are so happy to have Katie here, I know we say that about everyone but it’s true! It takes a team to help build a business, and we’re creating quite the A-team :)

Hey guys,

So we’re getting things rolling here at the shop which is very exciting. Recently we had this GTI back in for some aesthetic upgrades!

Our customer wanted a new cold air intake, interior lighting, new steering wheel, front lip install, and red hoses to replace previous black ones.

The customer was experiencing oil residue on the hood caused by a cracked oil cap so we also replaced that with a brand new one😊

Also say hi to Galil!!
