Taking the bad from others and making it right. Almost nothing has been done correctly, luckily the intake only wept outwards. The oil pan is leaking at the front, one motor mount bolt hole is stripped out, the other bolt was backing itself out. Carb jets are bigger than that of my S10! This isn't turbod or anywhere near 600hp. 75 & 85! Wowzer, no wonder the plugs are fouled. And much more.

It will be right when she leaves me, thats what counts.

After 16 years, the intake manifold gasket gave way and I spun the rear main bearing on the way to the drags in October. I can't express how grateful I am that this is the only damage. It just casually locked up on me while en route to beat the snot out of her.
Certainly this had begun a week or so prior,. I noticed the coolant level had dropped a bit and thought nothing much of it. Well, I know where it went.
Perhaps its of note that I built this when Dad was alive and he recommended that I block the oil bypass off so that all of the oil has to pass through the filter. Ive never had any issues with filters blowing up and any metal that got sucked up had to be filtered. So perhaps that is why there isn't more damage, I don't know.
I will have the crank fixed and add a few more goodies to the mix and next year maybe 9's will be that much easier.

Installed a pulley setup on this oddball 289. Ownder has a drivers side water pup on a 3 bolt crank... but the CVF kit worked out. Had to drill and tap the heads for the 7/16 hardware.
