A few months back, Jill from Jill Tamminen was teaching a class at my family’s mill, Rapidan Fiber Mill

And this color just kept drawing her eye


So, I sent her some!

She immediately cast it on and created an amazing pattern that she’s calling the Keystone Shawl.

It was a long journey to get here.

Late nights, missing out on things, lots of dyeing, and trying out a lot of new things.

All for one weekend


And it was completely worth it!

It’s Shenandoah Valley Fiber Festival this weekend!!

I’ve got a lot of new things coming with me.

New displays for all the wonderful yarn.

Lots of my fall colors.

I’m always gonna bring the minis.

Introducing some stitch stoppers for y’all.

And roving for the first time!

Finally, a new color set: Enchanted Forest!!!

Woot!

Shenandoah Valley Fiber Festival is this weekend!!!!

I’ve been getting all kinds of stuff prepped and ready for this weekend.

The biggest are these custom pegboards from Nathan

They are absolutely amazing!

I was worried about having enough room for the skeins, but I think there’s plenty!

I’m still trying to figure the layout for the boards, we’ll see how it turns out!

A little over a year ago, I had an idea that just wouldn’t leave my head...

What if I took a book and turned the themes or characters into a yarn color.

But, instead of showing the color, I released a clue about the book and asked people to buy the yarn without seeing it?

Would people buy the yarn?

I was really nervous


But people loved the idea!

And jumped on board and immediately started buying these Blind Dates with Yarn!

They loved it.

And it is so humbling hearing these wonderful reviews from y’all.

I had no idea my Blind Dates with Yarn would be so popular.

And seeing all the wonderful projects y’all make with them is so inspiring!

A year ago, I was thinking about ways to make it more fun to get yarn.

And Blind Date with a Book popped into my head, because everything I do is connected to books.

So, why not read a book, come up with a color set and stitch marker based on the book, then release a clue about the book and let people choose to purchase the yarn set without seeing the colors?????

I mean, who would buy that???

Turns out, a lot of people love it!

And it’s so much fun to hear everyone’s guesses.
