IS ACE SPEEDWAY GOING DIRT IN 2027? 👀
It’s still a rumor, but the talk is heating up around here. With Billy Andrews announced yesterday as Ace Speedway’s new owner, could the next chapter include a return to the track’s dirt roots?
Look at how much the regional dirt racing landscape has already changed.
Ararat BullRing in Ararat, VA reopened last year. Oak Level Raceway in Bassett, VA was brought back from the forest last fall and hosted racing this year. Friendship Motor Speedway in Elkin, NC reopened this year, and rumors continue to swirl about a possible reopening of 311 Motor Speedway in Pine Hall, NC.
Meanwhile, the former Halifax County Speedway in Littleton, NC is set to return next season as Dillon Motorsports Park under a multi-year lease.
With Ace sitting between 311 and Dillon, another dirt track could make this regional picture even more interesting. More places to race, potential for tracks to work together, and plenty of questions about divisions, schedules and where the cars would come from.
Nothing is confirmed about dirt at Ace. The image is a concept of what it could look like—but the possibility has people talking.
Would you like to see Ace return to dirt? And what would that mean for dirt racing around here?
