Slic'S is an acronym for Steven himself, his wife Libby and two children Christopher and Samantha Stowe. Slic'S has been in business since, June of 2009. Prior to being Slic'S Paint & Body it was called Phil's Auto Body Shop. Owned and operated by Phil St
owe for 28 years. Still owned by Phil and operated by his youngest son Steven. There Steven watched and learned like any young son would do. Becoming more and more curious as he grew up. Steven started out as a sweeper and evolved into what he considers a professional painter. Steven was educated in the North Rowan County school system. Accepted to Western Carolina University, earning a BS in Industrial Distribution. But after several jobs in his field, Steven found himself returning into the paint industry. In 1996 he landed a job at the Freightliner plant in Cleveland, NC. His paint and body experience got his foot in the door in June of 1996. Serving the majority of his expertise in the Paint Department. After 13 years of service, Steven was then laid off. Steven doesn’t regret the experiences he had at Freightliner. Although returning after a 2 year furlough, for him, was not an option. Steven has transferred his experience into Slic’S painting process. Emphasizing on increased productivity, quality and organization. Slic’S is sitting on approximately 3 acres in Northern Rowan County. Butler Building. Constructed in 1980 with office, restroom, Binks cross-draft paint booth(E.P.A. compliant), mobile mid-rise lift, stationary lift and many, many top notch tools and equipment used in the industry today.
