Four Porsche-based builds made their debut at The Peninsula Signature Events, each taking a very different approach to performance and the air-cooled formula.

Porsche Sonderwunsch transformed a 991 GT2 RS into a one-off, road-legal “Moby Dick” inspired by the 935/78, complete with a new slantnose body, extensive carbon and Manthey development.

The GXR-Evo is Gunther Werks most focused 993 yet, pairing a 455-hp, 9,000-rpm naturally aspirated 4.0L flat-six with a 2,386-lb carbon body. Just 15 will be built.

RUF Automobile GmbH new Ehra combines a 650-hp twin-turbo 3.6L flat-six, seven-speed manual and variable AWD in a carbon-bodied grand tourer inspired by RUF’s history at Ehra-Lessien.

AIRION debuted its reimagined 993 with a 400+ hp, naturally aspirated 4.3L air-cooled flat-six and carbon-reinforced chassis. Production is limited to 50 cars.

A massive fire broke out in the paddock at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca during their Monterey Motorsports Pre-Reuinion event on Monday, engulfing one of the most iconic JDM racecars: The 1989 Mazda 767B Chassis 003.

Known for its screaming rotary engine exhaust note and bright orange/green Charge livery, the 767B is one of the most satisfying racecars to experience seeing blast around the track.

There are only three in the world, and this particular one is privately owned by GhostRiderSquad. The team released a statement on the situation saying the car is expected to make a full recovery.

The Diablo SE30 was built to celebrate the company’s 30th anniversary. With only 150 units ever produced, just 25 were imported to the USA. On top of that, only 75 of the 150 SE30s were optioned with the iconic Viola paint, Lamborghini’s first-ever purple paint offering

The SE30 Diablo was not only lighter than the standard variant, but also came equipped with upgraded engine components, helping to produce around 525hp from its 5.7L V12.

Chassis No. 001 is an authentic works entry from the Castrol TOM’S Racing program, a team whose sustained success helped establish the Castrol Supra as one of the most recognizable racing icons in the world. The Castrol TOM’S Supra became a global symbol of Japanese motorsport, with its unmistakable livery and racing legacy immortalized in Gran Turismo Official and other iconic racing games, introducing millions to the world of JGTC.

After its racing career came to an end, Chassis No. 001 spent years hidden away in Japan, largely unseen by the public. Today, the car has found a new home with Colton Amster (Colton Amster) and the team at Restorations⏺Sales⏺Storage⏺️Venue Rentals , where it is undergoing an extensive preservation and restoration effort with the support of TOM'S Racing

Rather than simply restoring another race car, the goal is to preserve an authentic piece of Japanese motorsport history for future generations. In just a few weeks, Chassis No. 001 will make its next public appearance at The Peninsula Signature Events during Monterey Car Week, allowing enthusiasts to experience one of the most historically significant works Supras to survive from the golden era of JGTC competition 🛞🏁
