We can not thank these guys enough. They have already raised almost $14,000 for Johnny D'Aloia between their 1st auction, receiving donations for his gofundme, receiving private donations from their customers, and now this 2nd auction and final fundraising. Please give them all the love and support for all they have done for the shop and Johnny's recovery. Could not have done this without you all, from DAY 1.

I’d like to start off by apologizing for the lack of updates lately. Life has been chaotic on my end outside of Johnny’s recovery. My mom, Charlotte has been posting updates on her personal page if you’d like to view them there as it is hard for me to keep up. There have been some recent changes I feel necessary to share with you all. The person running the shop while Johnny has been in recovery has decided to quit with no notice. We gathered a few amazing people to help us start with a clean up today - THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!! The shop will continue to stay open with limited hours & by appointment only. My mom is doing her best to keep as many customers updated as possible. If you have any questions or concerns regarding your bike, please feel free to message our shops instagram or Facebook where I or Charlotte will do our best to help you. Thank you again for everybody that has supported us throughout this journey. Your love, support, & help does not go unnoticed. We are so so grateful to have the friends, family & customers we do ❤️

UPDATE 9/17:

Johnny has made some bigger cognitive strides in the past few days, as well as being diagnosed with pneumonia unfortunately. It is a mild case right now, and his team is staying on top of it with antibiotics and frequent chest x-rays. It is to be expected unfortunately with patients who have the same medical issues Johnny has been through and going through.

They did also have to put mitts back onto Johnny’s hands for his protection. As he becomes more alert, he is prone to try to pull out his feeding tube, temp monitor, or mess with his trach. Not really a big issue. However, this weekend when I asked to hold his hand, he immediately tried to remove the mitts himself, as if he was removing his riding gloves. When he does have his gloves off (I take them off when I am in his room) he tends to hold his right hand up and move his hand as if he is throttling a bike. The man can’t stop thinking about bikes, obviously.

They finally removed the wiring from his jaws. I think that has made the difference in his alertness. Although he has not tried to speak yet (they were removed just yesterday at 2pm) he does seem more relaxed. He is opening both of his eyes now, as opposed to only opening his left eye. He is doing a great job with PT and OT. Both teams note how hard he works during his sessions. Not surprised at all.

Yesterday and last night, Johnny has been keeping his eyes open a helluva lot more. Last night we held hands for a long bit just watching/listening to classic rock on the room tv. He would randomly drum his fingers when his fave songs played.

Please continue to send those prayers and positive vibes. They are working! However, his long medical journey has just begun.

UPDATE 9/10:

Tomorrow marks the 24th year since the tragedies of 9/11/2001. I bring it up because the events had a big impact on mine and Johnny’s lives. We weren’t together back then, but we shared our experiences with each other over and over for the past 10 years we have been together.

I will not go into details. I want to tell everyone to tell your people every single day how much you love them and how much they mean to you. Me and Johnny failed to do that for each other over the course of the past few months. And it breaks my heart that he may not ever fully know how much I love him and care for him. Just like 9/11 and Johnny’s accident, it only takes a split second for peoples lives to change forever. Do not waste those seconds. ❤️

Johnny is still doing well. He is still only responding to us by nodding or shaking his head, lifting his body up when uncomfortable, or squeezing our hands. As a reminder, Johnny has his jaws wired from his surgery and a trach, so he cannot communicate verbally.

He will have another session of PT this afternoon. I will include how he does in next update.

Every night before I leave, whether it bothers him or not (he sometimes likes no noise at all, hence why the nurses don’t want him to have any visitors yet), I will take a minute to read to him text messages, online comments to our update posts, dm’s, or retell a call I had that day, so he can feel all the love and support. He is usually snoring by the time I leave. I believe it brings him a lot of comfort.

Please join us this Sunday, September 14th in support of Johnny D’s Lunch Lap benefit ride & auction. Here’s what to expect:

All that are joining this benefit ride for Johnny D, are encouraged to donate to his Go Fund Me while at or at Huntersville.

11am - 1130am: Gather for Kickstands up at Sambuco Barber Co 10070 Edison Square Dr NW Concord, NC 28027

An approx 45-minute ride will be led by Steel Rain MC that is expected to arrive at Murto Made Huntersville by 12:30pm at the latest located at 11941 Ramah Church Rd Huntersville, NC 28078

And if you can’t make the ride but still want to support the day, Murto Made Huntersville will be open from 12pm - 5pm where you can join up with the ride there for a live auction starting at 1:30pm, with great food by available to purchase as a donation & music with all proceeds going to Johnny D’s recovery.

We will be personally collecting auction items all week. If you have an item you’d like to donate to the auction, Murto Made Huntersville & will be serving as drop off locations this week up until Saturday, so please feel free to reach out to arrange a drop-off or pick-up.

UPDATE 9/9:

Johnny had another great day yesterday. I wasn’t able to get there until later afternoon due to my own car issues and work. But everything happens for a reason .. when I walked into his room, his OT was working with him. She told me he had been balancing on his own feet. She asked him if he would stand up again for me. He heard my voice and looked up at me and, with help, stood up. The OT took her hands away, and he was able to balance himself for a few seconds on his own.. little by little, I will take it. I did bribe him with a hug, and he stood up again, and we held each other for a little while. All my car issues, work stress, etc. went away. He was there for me ... 🥰

Enough of the sappy stuff. Please continue those prayers and posivibes (thanks, Nick 😉). They are working!

Also, please keep a lookout for flyers on social media about some fundraising some great folks are having for Johnny’s recovery and shop. Foundation Moto, Cruz, and Jonathan. Sorry, I am not an MC gal and dont know what the MC names are 😬These fundraisers have been approved by me on behalf of Johnny D and the shop. So, please participate and support these events in any way you can.

UPDATE 9/8:

Last night around 9pm, they moved Johnny down to PCU. They will still be monitoring him as before, but he is no longer in a critical state.
Yesterday morning, he opened his left eye a little and lifted his head when I was talking to him. He didn’t respond when I asked him if he could see me. It’s a baby step, and I will take it.
I will be speaking to his new Dr’s later this afternoon to get an update on where we are right now. I do know our next goal is rehab.

Please continue to pray and send positive vibes for Johnny. It’s been 2 weeks since his accident and we still have a very long journey ahead of us.
