This listing is for a 2003 Yamaha 150 HPDI 25” outboard engine!

The cowlings are scratched and sun faded, and the top cowling has a few cracks! Some of the paint has scratches.

The engine has good compression
I had a Yamaha mechanic come out and hook his computer up to it and the engine has no codes and only has 468 HRS. The break down of run time is included in the pictures. The lower unit oil is clean.

I’m asking $4,999 FOR THIS ENGINE CONTACT ME AND MAKE A OFFER I'M NEGOTIABLE!!

This is the LEFT hand rotation engine I also have the RIGHT engine available as well. The RIGHT engine has 467 HRS and is in the same condition I will sell as a pair or separate.

Who invented outboards?

Frenchman Gustave Trouvé designed the first electric-powered outboard motor around 1870 and made his first voyage in it on May 26, 1881. It wasn't the most practical invention at a time when batteries were huge and heavy. You can see how low the boat is sitting in the water, which might be a bit of artistic flair—or a reflection of how perilious this pioneering voyage really was! And what about "mixing" electricity and water with all those wires strung around you? Gasoline-powered outboards followed about 20 years later and were developed by such pioneers as Ole Evinrude of Milwaukee (who patented a method of water cooling outboards in 1928) and the Swedish brothers Carl and Oscar Hult, who studied and improved on Evinrude's designs.

THIS IS A 6 CYL, CARBURATED, OUTBOARD WITH POWER TRIM AND TILT. THE OIL INJECTION HAS BEEN DISCONNECTED MAKING IT THAT MORE RELIABLE . THESE 6 CYLINDER CARB MOTORS ARE TRULY THE CREAM OF THE CROP WHEN IT COMES TO TWO STROKE POWER. THEY ARE RESPONSIVE AND VERY SIMPLE TO WORK ON. THERE RELIABILITY IS 2ND TO NONE.

WE ACQUIRED THE MOTOR LOCALLY. IT CAME IN ON TRADE TOWARDS A NEWER F225HP FOUR STROKE WE WERE SELLING. IT WAS USED ON A COBIA AND IT HAS ONLY 483 HOURS.

MECHANICALLY THE MOTOR IS IN GREAT SHAPE. COMPRESSION WAS 115-120 PER CYLINDER. IT FIRES RIGHT UP, PUMPS GOOD WATER , SHIFTS SMOOTH AND SOUNDS EXCELLENT WHEN YOU RAP THE THROTTLE.
