High Winds

No damage has been noted to any campers but we did have some canopies that tried to become kites... I will be up there tomorrow to look everything over harder.

We have electric, so if you do not have electric at your house - you have options, which is a good thing.

Lake Level - Below Normal...

We haven't seen below normal in a little while... remember, things that are fine when we are 20ft up, place you could safely drive, aren't when we are below normal. Make sure you have your depth finders on, make sure you know you are safe driving your boat at this lake level... if the lake drops more, make sure you are good at that level. Even people that have been on the lake for decades find things they forgot about when the lake is below normal...

Lowering lake levels at the man-made Fort Gibson Lake may have contributed to boat renters in the last week telling the 2 News Problem Solvers about crashes into flooded concrete and trees.

Propane and Propane Accessories....

I always post this on my personal page... thought I might post here as well. Propane runs a price curve with winter being the most expensive and late July / August being the cheapest... So, it is that time of the year to buy your propane. I called Fromans who is typically cheapest for us at our home and they are currently at $1.99/gal with the minimum, cheaper than they were last year.

I will wait another week or two to see if it drops any more before I buy.

As a reminder... stay on the roads at all times. If you do not know where the roads are, then you should not be driving there....

The tracks are right where a little row of Bald Cypress are growing. They may have ran over two of the trees.

Again, I simply can't understand continuing to drop the lake below normal in July....

From way up to below normal and dropping... That happened fast.

In the spring... when we know rains are coming (late April, May.. maybe early June), I would keep the lake as low as possible to handle the rain...

In the middle of summer - when we have no clue if we will ever get another rain, the heat index is in the 100's... (July, August, Sept), I would keep the lake a 1ft to 2ft up in case we go longer without a rain then we would like to see... so that we don't get the lake to 3ft below normal...

But that is me and I don't get to control these things.

The lake is going to normal next week - 554ft. If we don't get some rain and they have to discharge at the dam to keep the fish alive downstream, then we will start dropping - which I do not like to see. Updated taper attached.
