A lot of people like to throw shade at situations like this, but the parking brake let go on this one at the top of a parking area at Herrick Reservoir. Could you imaging watching your ride driving away backwards when it's NOT a Tesla? They were able to drive away. No damage πŸ‘

Incident Update: Mile Marker 81 Fire
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
August 13, 2026, 9:00am MT

(Banks, Idaho) – The Mile Marker 81 Fire burning near the intersection of Highway 55 and the Banks-Lowman Road remains between those two roads. Due to the fire backing down to the roads overnight as planned and more accurate mapping the fire is now estimated at 330 acres.

Highway 55 has been closed in both directions for public safety due to potential for large rocks and other material to roll onto the highway. Please see the Idaho Transportation Department’s page and Idaho 511 alerts for updates that may occur throughout the day.

There are approximately 70 personnel on the fire and 2 helicopters that will still be working to secure the fire today. The estimated containment date has been pushed back to 8/14 at noon due to the steep slopes where burning material can roll and burning snags that can send out embers. There is still a Red Flag warning in the fire area this afternoon for scattered thunderstorms with outflow winds.

DEF fluid does go bad! Today I got a call from a fella with a 2021 F350 that had just popped off a derate warning due to bad DEF fluid. Truck only has 9700ish miles. He rarely drives it. Hasn't topped off his def for months.

I went out and pumped out the old fluid and dropped 5 gallons of fresh fluid in the tank. Derate warning went away immediately. Turns out there's a sensor in the tank that senses the purity of the fluid.

Moral of the story? Drive your truck more. DEF will break down and sour like milk!

The BOSS deserved a little upgrade! Love you Kayla 😘❀️😁

In today's episode of MOUNTAIN MAYHEM ...

Special thanks to Valley County Sheriff's Office for the quick assist to conduct a full stop of traffic on Hwy 55 at Thunder Mountain Burger's while recovering this truck. Closure lasted 5 minutes.

This truck pulled over to place some work zone signs. Unfortunately the embankment was just a little too steep and they started sliding down. We made quick work of the recovery.

Also, thank you to the drivers passing through for taking it easy and having patience while we cleared the incident πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘
