🎉*End of Season Update*🎉

Windsong is out of the water for the winter!

Thank you to everyone who made this season happen, whether by sailing with us, donating to our engine fundraiser, or by coming out and lending a hand!

We got the new engine in and running at the beginning of October, but are still sorting out some issues with cooling, prop resizing, and throttle settings. But it runs smoothly, sounds great, and got us across the harbor to haul out no problem.

Yesterday we hauled out at Cape Charles Yacht Center for winter storage, downrigged the sails, and removed the first load of nonessential items from the boat. We've got a list of winter projects to start tackling, including pulling the masts for refinishing, rebuilding the galley counter over the engine, and repainting the deck.

We'll post some winter project updates along the way, and then see y'all back out on the water in the spring!

*Engine Replacement Fundraiser Party, Tonight 9/19!*

Our awesome friend Dave over at is hosting a fundraiser party for our engine replacement project at his shop in Cape Charles tonight!

Where: Southeast Expeditions, 7 Strawberry Street, Cape Charles

When: Thursday 9/19/24 5-9pm

What: food, beer, live music by Loaded Goat, raffle prizes, and awesome people to hang out with!

Suggested donation of $20 at the door.

Raffle prizes include:
-Schooner Windsong sunset sail private charter
-Schooner Alliance II sunset sail tickets
-Southeast Expeditions Chatham Vineyards kayak tour,
-and more!
Raffle tickets will be $5 each or 6 for $20.

We'll also be set up to sell gift cards toward our sails next season!

Did y'all know it's Captain Corey's Birthday?!?
And wouldn't ya know he got a new engine for Schooner Windsong as a gift!!

But seriously in other news most of you may not know we've had a bit of engine trouble this week and made the decision to say good bye to our beloved thornycroft and hello to a new to us Perkins!!!

After 4 long hot days of non-stop work and a few hiccups later, we have the new engine on the boat and plan to finish a few things first thing tomorrow and hopefully make a big splash by lunch 🤞 we couldn't have done it with out the help of our friends Scott, Hannah Via and Brian!! wish us luck and let's all wish Corey a happy Bornday!!!
