Hello to My I want to take a Moment to reach out to Each and Everyone of You. It is Our First Blood Drive Sponsored by South Oak Dodge, facilitated by John Buchanan. Friday April 2nd from 1pm-6pm at the Dealership.

We are here to demonstrate our commitment to the communities health needs while helping to ensure that an adequate blood supply is always available for patients with sickle cell disease, and other needs. Also by holding a blood drive we are hoping to offer our members and neighbors in the Matteson Community, a more convenient blood donation opportunity.

Every two seconds someone in the U.S. needs Blood. It is essential for surgeries, cancer treatment, chronic illness, and traumatic injures. Whether a patient receives whole blood, red cells, platelets, or plasma, this life saving care starts with one person making a generous donation.

•Approximately 36,000 units of Red Blood cells are needed Every Day in the United States.

•Sickle Cell Disease affects 90,000 to 100,000 people in the United States. About 1,000 babies are born with the disease each year. Sickle Cell patients can require transfusions throughout their lives.

If you are at least 17 years old or 16 with signed Red Cross consent form, weight at least 110 pounds and you are in good health you may be eligible to give blood. Giving blood is safe simple and help save lives in a Covid Friendly Environment. Each pint of blood that is donated may be helping as many as 3 people. The American Red Cross is the largest single provider of Blood in the country.
