Today we officially “crossed our wake” 🌊

After 10 months, 3 Countries, 6,254.5 miles, and 140 locks- our Great Loop Adventure comes to an end.

A whole lot of fun, thanks for following us on this journey. 💙

COAST in the big city! 🗽🍎🥰
What fun to experience NYC from the water. Staying at Liberty Landing across the river, easy ferry ride, tons of walking- 12 + miles. Lunch at Chelsea Market, tour through the Whitney Museum, gelato in the West Village, dinner and a show in Midtown! A whirlwind 12 hours!

Seaside charm at Cape May, a beautiful historic town on the southern tip of the Jersey shore. With colorful umbrellas lining the beach and a thriving pedestrian dining/shopping plaza Cape May screams summer! Tree lined streets, boats, beaches and ice cream-an ideal stop as we continue to head north🛥️⚓️🏖️🍦🌳

So begins the last leg of the Great Loop adventure for COAST after a fabulous Memorial Day weekend in Annapolis with family! While there are marinas at every turn in the harbor, The Annapolis Yacht Basin is our favorite butting up to the Annapolis Yacht Club with easy access to the historic downtown, the Naval Academy and Eastport, local foodie destination. All within walking distance! Boat rides, long strolls, ice cream, crabcakes, oysters we did it all!!! Sad to start the last leg but it’s time to get sweet COAST back to her homeport for a summer on Lake Champlain! 🛥️🇺🇸❤️⚓️

Oxford, MD a charming colonial port town on the eastern shore of the Chesapeake at the Tred Avon River. 🛥️⚓️Oxford is a little gem with beautifully preserved historic homes surrounding an adorable town center. Visiting the yacht club we watched a fierce regatta of remote control sailboats, rode our bikes through the tree lined streets that hug the shoreline and found the most incredible ice cream!!! ⛵️🍦

Solomons Island, MD sits on a peninsula where the picturesque Patuxent River meets the Chesapeake Bay. We wanted to visit Solomons because of its rich history and charming pier. We loved visiting the Calvert Maritime Museum and riding bikes through the winding streets following the shoreline. We aren’t done our trip yet, but after over 6,000 miles Safe Harbor Zahnisers is our favorite marina so far! It’s a commitment to visit Solomons, well worth it! 🛥️⚓️🌾🐢

Washington DC a welcomed side trip.
We loved our long weekend in DC at the Wharf, a perfect location to visit our daughter and walking distance from the National Mall and many amazing restaurants! There are so many side trips on the Loop to consider, DC was one of our favorites🛥️⚓️🩷

Stay in your lane and definitely out of the way is the lesson on this stretch! Military and commercial vessels everywhere! And a lock-haven’t seen that in awhile! 🤣
