Are you ready to Get There Green?

The transportation sector is one of the highest sources of New York State's greenhouse gas emissions and the largest part of most New Yorkers' personal carbon footprint. Therefore, it is critically important that we all work to reduce our emissions from transportation in our daily lives to improve air quality, benefit our health and the health of others, and help to reduce New York State’s greenhouse gas emissions and ultimately achieve a net-zero economy of the future.

Here's how to participate:

Take Your Trip(s) – Simply walk, bike, take transit, carpool, drive an electric vehicle, or use another form of sustainable transportation for at least one trip (and yes, kayaking and unicycling count if you’re replacing a car trip).

Post – While on your trip(s), and in a safe manner, snap a pic and post it to social media and tag to let everyone know about your awesome green trip!

We had an engaging, inspiring, and energizing time at Clean Cities and Communities' annual meeting in Kansas City earlier this month! With 75+ coalitions nationwide, we are "Driving Forward Together" to explore innovative and impactful ways to build on current efforts fostering energy independence and improving air quality in the alternative fuels space.

It's National Drive Electric Month, and we're here to remind you that you don't need to drive a personal EV to drive electric. In Rochester, you can choose from a variety of electric modes of transportation, including RTS - Regional Transit Service & RTS Transit Center, Veo, and Floshare! Celebrate this month of increased awareness of electrification and zero-emission transportation by trying out one of these modes to get to school, work, or wherever you need to go.
