ANNOUNCEMENT 📣 📣📣💔💔💔💔
This has not been an easy decision nor has it been a quick one and honestly it was needed long before now but the love for my customers and this industry blinded my common sense. As it stands, BMS is closed until further notice. We are no longer taking work or offering support/build advice. We have moved out of the Brewer building and I am personally finishing current projects at a private location.
I have always tried my absolute best to operate with fairness, honesty, selflessness, and integrity. I have truly sacrificed everything I’ve earned for the dreams of others to become realities. For so many years that was all the success I could ever want or need. As the clout grew, so did people’s needs, expectations, and my sacrifices. Combined with the financial battles, my mind and heart tapped out.
We have found ourselves down some very costly rabbit holes, chasing goals for customers over the years. I will go to the end of the earth for my customers, but it’s never been fair in my eyes to charge them for the extra “mileage”………this resulted in devaluing my/our time and it consumed capital without discrimination…each and every time. These mistakes and mis-managements were so destructive.
Standing behind our work is one thing, that’s never a question, but Foolishly working for free to “make things right”, good willing parts/shipping not covered by manufacturers/builders/vendors, and covering issues that should have never been our responsibility crippled us. All that to carry a good name…..this gave the customer an added sense of irresponsibility and an expectation of coverage no matter what….. Why not take advantage…I allowed it. I did not manage these expectations correctly and I exposed the company to damage from the irresponsibility of others. I thought I was doing the right thing, but yet again it consumed the fuel of existence…money!
Having the dyno forced to be off site was incredibly damaging. Not being at the shop to lead my crew, assist customers, and manage the office truly buried us. Not to mention, a second lease never helped.
Without a complete restructure, I will not allow this continue. Our cars have consistently out performed our competition but there are so many more aspects that need to be delivered on. I know some have been greatly affected by my mistakes and I sincerely apologize. It stops now! There is still hope that all the good we have done here does not get reduced into nothing.
Our customers look to us for the best, and they deserve it in every aspect. I thank all of you who have supported us and I thank all of you who may keep faith that we will someday return with a far greater structure and deliver on the all around experience with Batten Motorsports. Thank you for trying to understand and please know I gave it my all. -Coty
