When prodding more power under your pony’s hood, the go-to solution for Mustangs was a supercharger. But since 2020, a new engine has entered the chat: Ford’s 7.3-liter Godzilla V8. Swapping in a Godzilla engine is an old-school approach: There’s no replacement for displacement! We’ve added several different superchargers to our previous project Mustangs, so we wanted to take a different route for this 1999 Mustang Cobra. Instead of adding PSI, we’re adding CID! Ford’s tiny modular 4.6-liter engine may have 32 valves, but it only has 281 cubic inches. Ford’s 7.3-liter Godzilla sports 445 cubes. That’s big block territory!
