Super Beetle Update Time!
The past few weeks I did some odds and ends. I finally received my wheels and tires, painted them first coat, mounted them and installed. I got the air ride sorted out so I could air it up and load it on a trailer to move to the new shop. Two other guys and I rented a shop. I can now have space to spread out and work on the Bug!

Super Beetle Update!!!!
I mounted the pan to mock up the front struts and tires all around. I checked wheel and tire fitment so I can widen the fenders where needed. Since I haven't received my wheels and tires YET! this was just a conceptual test fit.
I also scuffed up the epoxy primer, cleaned, prepped and put down some polyester primer for block sanding.
I have some more parts I want to paint so I will do a few more and then start sanding.
I should be getting my wheels in soon so then I will stop sanding and do the fenders.

I haven't posted for a month so it's time for a Super Beetle update.
I am making progress on the body work but I am struggling with the door alignment so I figured I better mount the pan (frame ) and get everything straight as it would be when it sits on the ground. Then I will line everything up and continue with the body work.
I coated the underside of the body, the engine compartment, and the luggage shelf with Lizard Skin sound deadening.
I also test fitted the headliner one more time to get it close to final so I wouldn't make a mess after the paint is complete.

Today's Super Beetle Project Update!

The past week I did actually accomplish a few odds and ends:
I test fitted, drilled and aligned the running boards
Final fit and primed the rear apron
Began to convert my dash to a 'Naked Dash" with no dash pad. To accomplish this I have to make the glove box door larger to cover the gaps from the dash pad, shave the ash tray and some other stuff later.
Changed out the four lug drum brakes to five lug front disc and 5 lug rear drums so I can have more options for which wheels I am going to install.
Fabbed up and welded in some retainer clips for my one piece headliner.
Some other little odds and ends not worth mentioning.
Some of this has to be done before body finishing work, or I am procrastinating by doing this stuff. See my new photo album "Odds and Ends" To be continued...
