Busy weekend at the shop for sure, wrapped up a no start condition on this Kawasaki Mule 610 that ended up being a dead battery. The battery was able to be quick charged enough with a high amp charge and then put on a slow trickle charge to the point that this battery is checking out healthy so a big cost saver for the customer. When running it had a very low idle and didn't start the easiest, so an idle adjustment fixed that issue. Lastly the winch was intermittent or not working at all, took a while to narrow it down but the Warn wireless controller had actually gone bad and once it was bypassed the winch works reliably from the hard wired switch.

Next up was a customers Husqvarna Z345 that keeps throwing the drive belt. I was able to get the belt back on the pulleys while we wait for a new belt and tensioner spring to arrive to hopefully fix the very common issue on these models.

Lastly was a quick service on a 2012 Range Rover Supercharged. Upon inspection while performing the oil change it was found that the CV axle was not seated completely in the tunnel that goes through the oil pan (crazy design) along with a leak from the power steering lines. The customer will be taking it to a Land Rover specialist to fix those issues.

All in all a busy but blessed weekend at the shop and with the family!

Had a customer reach out to me via email and we set up a time for him to drop off his 1994 Yamaha Kodiak 400 that would not start. It died on him after putting it to work on his property and thankfully I was able to get him back up and going quickly.

There were a few small things that were found in the electrical diagnostic that led to finding out the cause and repair. The neutral light would not illuminate and when you hit the start button nothing happened. Looking down below the pull start assembly the plug for the neutral sensor came undone and also while looking at the battery a cable was disconnected. After checking for continuity it was found to be a ground for the starter so it was reconnected to the battery and the machine fired up. Inspection of the air filter showed it had deteriorated and required replacement. Also an adjustment to the car. To the stock air/fuel mixture was completed.

All of this was done in the time that the customer left and was on his way back home, I called him and thankfully caught him before he got home so he was able to take it the same day! Love these old machines as they may not be the fastest or most comfortable on the trails but they are very simple and reliable.

Another project machine is already on to a new owner. This 1999 Polaris Sportsman 500 was picked up in non-running condition with a slew of issues from sitting for quite a while. The fuel system was gummed up enough that the lines had to be blown through to clear blockages, along with a severely gummed up carburetor. Fuel that sits for a long time turns to a molasses like texture.

Once the fuel system was cleared, the starter needed replacement since it was seized and would not move. Same went for the primary clutch as once it ran, the clutch would not move like it should so it was replaced with a good salvage unit to keep it OEM quality. The clutch cover was also warped as it is a common issue on older machines. Lastly the brake lines were plugged so they were replaced and the rest of the system was blown through with compressed air and then flushed with new fluid.

Overall this machine took a good bit to get back going but now it fires right up and runs strong and should make the new owner happy for years to come!

I have been blessed to spend 3 of the last 5 weeks serving others. Two of those weeks were spent at youth camps pouring into the future generation to turn their hearts to Jesus Christ. Then last week was spent in Black Mountain, NC rebuilding homes from Hurricane Helene with others from my church. The homeowners we were able to help have such an impactful story to tell about the storm and we are thankful to have gotten them one step closer to being back in their homes after 2 years. Thankful and blessed beyond what I deserve!

Busy start to the week as a customer dropped off their new to them 1998 Honda Civic. It needed a few things that were found during a used car inspection, and that inspection was worth its weight in gold so the owner knew they were getting a solid car. The CV axles needed replacement due to excessive play and also tears in the boots. Worn tie rods were also noted so inner and outer tie rods were replaced and the steering feels much tighter. The rear shocks were leaking and making noise so they were replaced as an assembly as well. Finally while it was here, a quick scuff and paint on the wheels and wheel covers made a huge difference!

On another note, I finally had some time to wrap up this project, a 2000 Polaris Magnum 330 2x4 wrapped in 2004 Sportsman 400 plastics. This was picked up as a non-runner in rough shape. The starter was locked up so it was replaced along with the battery and starter switch on the handlebar. The carb and fuel system was plugged up really bad so it was gone through as well. Lots of little odds and ends to get it squared away but now it fires right up and runs strong and is ready for another 20+ years of work or fun!

Another old Honda was rescued from being bound for the scrap yard. This one started out non running along with a lot of missing hardware on the rear end. Ended up going through the entire electrical system, rebuilding the starter, replacing the CDI, fuses, and the battery. The original carb was gone through and the fuel tank repaired since it had a couple of leaks near the bottom parts of the saddle. It will not win and beauty contests but the new owner will have years of usage on their farm with no problems as these machines are darn near bulletproof!

Spent some time out in the shop working on a friend's 1997 Civic project to determine if it was worth restoring or moving on to something in better condition. This one needs a lot of love, but new CV axles and tie rod ends were installed along with some wiring repair in multiple places, clutch adjustment and bleeding and finally a brake bleed/flush.

Also made a stop out at a repeat customer as they had issues with their John Deere SRX75 not engaging the mower deck. The deck belt finally bit the dust, but a new one was sourced from the dealer and we had it back up and cutting again. The blade was also sharpened so it should be good to go for a while.

Also finished up another project Fourtrax 300 that came in super rough shape, now it's up and running even if it's not perfect it will bring someone a lot of smiles and get a lot of work done.

Picked this saw up a little while back with spark plug hole damage. Was able to tap and enlarge the hole for a thread repair insert. Once the new threads were installed compression was over 150psi and this saw rips! A new Husqvarna chain and this started to take down and trim trees with no issues. Moved it on to a new owner who should get many more years out of the saw.

Just finished up a pair of Kymco Mongoose ATVs that had been sitting a little while. Both needed just a once over with fresh fuel and their carbs gone through. The 70 had sat much longer and the jets were clogged and the gas was as dark as apple juice vs being a much clearer color of normal fresh gas. Needless to say they were taken care of and the owner should be ready to roll in wherever they want to ride them.

Finished up two mowers for a friend of mine to keep these from being put out to pasture as scrap. The John Deere needed a good bit more work as it was older, but it should serve the new owner well for quite a while longer. New fuel pump, carburetor, deck wheels, and some other random parts that were missing got this back and going to a much better state.

The Craftsman mower needed a lot less but was far from perfect when it showed up. The drive belt was hanging on by a thread and the carburetor needed a deep clean in the ultrasonic. Blades were sharpened as well along with a new battery to get it going again. Love keeping these older machines going.
