For everyone keeping up with this project, it has been a lot of long nights with tape measures, angle finders and note pads. Measure the body, imagine where the frame should go. Think about how the floor ties in. Where will your feet be. How will the transmission and exhaust fit. There have been nights I haven’t even touched a tool. That being said progress has been made. It started out with sketches and card board cutouts and now I’ve moved on to CAD. Having redesigned it half a dozen times there I’m finally ready to start making a frame. So here is what I have come up with. I am planing on having a lot of parts laser cut and slowly piecing all the parts together. I still have a lot more to do and it has become far more complicated than I was planing but I think it will be more than work it in the end. The last picture is the idea of what I’m shooting for.

Time for a shop update. Had a 73 bronco come in for a full restoration. Working fixing all rust in the door jambs before I pull the body off the frame and send the chassis of to powder coat. The 55 panel truck is in for a complete paint job. And I did a quick repair and paint job on the Honda goldwing. Lots of other things to come.

Just an object sitting in space.

Got the front section mounted perfectly level and square. Now I have to do the same thing with the back section. Once everything is in place and lined up I can determine my wheelbase distance and begin the process of building the frame.

Some of you may remember this car from quite a few years ago. A lot has happened since I last did anything to it. I’ve started a business, basically rebuilt my building added on. I’ve spent a lot of time making a place to work. Things aren’t done but they are finally done enough and in a usable state. So I’m going to turn my attention on one of my life goals and something I’ve been working towards, for a long time now

This is my rendition of the ultimate Foxbody mustang and my goal is to enter in the
This is a long road and I’m sure it will take longer than I expect but I’ve started none the less.

I have a huge list of things I wish to accomplish with this and most of them involve throwing away pretty much half the car. What doesn’t get thrown away gets heavily modified. There have been quite a few plan changes since the last time I posted anything about the car as well. Starting with the first piece of the puzzle I’ve decided to go with fully independent front and rear suspension and a full length frame. Once I have my base down I will start fitting the body which is getting widened by 3in on each side. I’m not the greatest at posting but I will do my best as this is an after hours project.

Been slow going on the mustang but a lot has happened since my last post.
Floors have all been welded in, metal finished, primed and painted. Seat pans were the last things to go in. Everything was DTM epoxy primed to prevent rust in the future, welded together seam sealed and coated with sound deadening. To top it off it got a fresh coat of grabber blue and now you can’t tell anything was ever done.
Once all the parts arrive the interior will start to go back together.

Been very busy working on the shop lately and I have to say I love the result. There was nothing really wrong with my shop before but when it came time to put on a new roof everything had to get moved out anyway so it was full steam ahead. All the little things that bothered me got fixed and updated. Everything got organized and a lot useless things got thrown out. The shop still isn’t finished but for now it’s back to work on cars. Enjoy some before and after shots.

Things have been moving slowly but have been very rewarding lately. The Porsche is painted and headed back to the for reassembly and the bug is in its final stages of finishing. The bus just came for a few small thing but made for a photo I couldn’t pass up. More projects to come soon!

Great progress on both German cars last week. The bug has finally entered it’s final stage of primer and is waiting for its final sanding before paint. The Porsche still has a ways to go but is making fantastic progress. Looking to get them both in paint soon.

The mustang has a new home for a little while. Really looking forward to helping preserve its place in history.
It makes me smile just having it sit in the shop.
I will be posting updates as it progresses.
