Swift Mobile Oil (SMO) is proud to partner with RAI Media with their Hire Smart, Hire Vets campaign. As a customer of ours, you may know SMO is a veteran owned company. I, Brendon, was in the Marine Corps. Upon leaving the military I faced the massive hurdle of transitioning back into civilian life. One of the biggest issues for veterans coming back, is finding employment. I think it’s very important for businesses, especially local, to understand that this transition is no easy task. Employers should be willing to work with and accommodate veterans through this period in their life. Speaking to my personal experiences, I had numerous appointments with the VA to get my disability rating and get set up with a primary care physician. I had to leave early or come in late 8-10 times at least. Thankfully my job was accommodating and understanding, but many aren’t as fortunate. By partnering with RAI Media, our goal is to bring awareness to employment issues surrounding the veteran community and to become a support system for our local businesses.
