THIS! ⬇️
There’s something bittersweet about this time of year.
Race season is coming to an end, and as much as I’m looking forward to slower weekends, more time at home, and having a little more breathing room in our schedule… a part of me already misses it.
I’ll miss the sound of the engines.
The smell of the track.
The early mornings and late nights.
The long drives.
The anticipation of loading up and heading out for another weekend.
The feeling of walking into the pits and knowing we have another race ahead of us.
It’s funny how something can exhaust you and still be something you desperately miss when it’s gone.
For months, racing becomes the rhythm of our life. Our weekends revolve around it. We plan around it, pack for it, travel for it, live it.
And then suddenly… it’s over.
The trailer gets parked. The weekends get quiet. The schedule opens up.
And while I know I’ll appreciate that quiet, I also know I’ll find myself wishing we were headed back to the track.
Because racing isn’t just something we do.
It’s a season of our lives. It’s memories. It’s watching the sun come up over a racetrack and seeing it set behind the grandstands. It’s hearing engines fire up and knowing that another weekend of doing what we love is about to begin.
It’s the little moments I probably don’t appreciate enough while they’re happening.
And maybe that’s why the end of the season always feels a little heavy.
I’m ready for the slower pace.
But I’m not quite ready to say goodbye.
Until next season, I’ll just be over here missing the noise, the miles, the chaos, and the feeling of being exactly where we’re supposed to be. 🏁❤️
