More new hardware for VSS Designs! 🚀

With increasing demand and more advanced software becoming a bigger part of our workflow, it was time to upgrade the mobile workstation.

We’ve upgraded to an MSI laptop featuring an Intel Core Ultra 9 processor, 64GB of RAM, and an NVIDIA RTX 5070 12GB graphics card.

This new mobile workstation will give us the horsepower needed for increasingly demanding CAD, reverse engineering, 3D scanning, and design work as VSS Designs continues to grow.

More capability. More mobility. More projects. 💻🔧

Early stages of the 3D scans for a client’s 1965 Ford Galaxie Drag & Drive build.

We’ll be using the factory gauge cluster mounting points to design a one-off custom gauge cluster, incorporating all the modern "racecar bits” 😉 while keeping everything mounted to the factory dashboard.

This is going to be an awesome project to take on! Can’t wait to see this one come together.

Taking a low-resolution 3D scan of the bed cage before tearing it down for a complete redesign this coming winter.

This gives me a digital reference of the existing setup so I can capture the current geometry and use it as the starting point for the new design in SOLIDWORKS CAD

PLA mock-up print of the final revision of the S197 Mustang rear quarter-window NACA ducts for the rear brake cooling system.

This project was designed using a combination of SHINING 3D EINSTAR 3D scanning, QUICKSURFACE reverse-engineering software, and final CAD development in SOLIDWORKS.

This print is being used to verify the final fitment and make sure everything is dialed in before moving on to the finished parts.
