The things of which we're certain
In this most uncertain life
Are death and endless taxes
With commotion pain and strife

As sin pervades the fibers
Of the souls of human birth
Until Christ comes in glory
To restore His plan for earth

But those who know the Saviour
Through experiences gained
Know also to be certain
There will come an end to pain

As well as death and taxes
And the strife on earth we know
When Christ destroys the devil
And the seed that he did sow

And all those who have waited
For the prophesy fulfilled
Will stand on earth victorious
When evil has been killed

With crowns and robes of glory
Wholly earned by Christ the Lamb
To share with those He's chosen
Who proclaimed the Great I Am

To be their certain ending
Who begins their life anew
Fulfilling every promise
As He said that He would do

Proclaiming all the faithful
As His heirs with Christ our King
Who'll live with Him forever
In His joyous offering

The Price of our redemption
Is complete in what Christ paid
When given heaven's option
It was on the cross He stayed

The God of all creation
Chose to bear iniquity
As His own Law demanded
To redeem humanity

For in His love unending
He would not forebear the sin
That cursed the ones created
With His breath of life in them

And chose to be One like us
In our weak humanity
To show there was no reason
There should be iniquity

And lived without one failure
As His grasp did never fail
Upon His Father's power
So each time He was assailed

By demons of the darkness
He bore light before all men
To show by His anointing
We need not succumb to sin

But show by faith in Jesus
There's no power to o'ercome
The soul that's bound for glory
Where the strength of grace comes from

But claiming our salvation
As we're privileged to do
We know with His assurance
In the end He'll see us through

She took on a billion-dollar utility company with a filing cabinet and a bad attitude — and won. Now she's coming for the AI industry. And honestly? They should be nervous.
Environmental activist Erin Brockovich — the woman who exposed PG&E's groundwater contamination in the 1990s — has launched a crowdsourced map called the Brockovich AI Data Center Reporting platform, which has already collected 2,716 public reports about AI facilities nationwide. (Gadget Review) The map went live, the people showed up, and Silicon Valley suddenly has a very Erin Brockovich-shaped problem.
Here's the thing most people don't realize about AI. It doesn't live in the cloud. That's a marketing term. What AI actually lives in is a massive, warehouse-sized building full of servers that run 24 hours a day, 7 days a week — consuming water like a small city and electricity like an industrial district. There are now more than 4,200 data centers built to train, deploy, and deliver AI across the U.S. (Newsweek) And they are going up fast — in your state, possibly in your county, maybe closer to your neighborhood than you'd be comfortable knowing.
Texas leads the report map with 612 submissions, and nearly half of those — 297 reports — come from the small city of Sulfur Springs alone, ground zero for what one company claims will be one of the continent's largest AI data center complexes. (Gadget Review)
So what are people actually complaining about? Reports cite air pollution from backup generators, noise from industrial cooling systems, and health concerns about living near these sprawling facilities. (Gadget Review) The platform also lists high energy consumption driving up costs for surrounding communities, substantial water use for cooling that can strain local supplies, increased e-waste from frequent hardware upgrades, and constant noise from cooling systems and generators disrupting nearby residents. This is the part the tech industry's PR machine doesn't put in the press release. Every time a company announces a new AI model — every time the internet loses its mind over a chatbot that can write a poem — there's a real-world cost being paid by real people in real towns who didn't vote to become the hosting infrastructure for someone else's billion-dollar experiment.
The interactive map saw more than 1,800 reports submitted from 47 states within just the first week of going live. (Snopes) That's not a fringe concern. That's a national pattern. That's America speaking up from nearly every corner of the country saying: we see what you're building in our backyard, and we have questions.
Brockovich's play is the same one she ran on PG&E. Like her groundwater work decades ago, she's betting that organized community voices can hold corporate power accountable. (Gadget Review) She's turning thousands of individual complaints into a single, visible, undeniable map — the kind of thing that eventually ends up in front of a senator, a judge, or a jury.
The AI boom was sold to us as clean, invisible, frictionless progress. Turns out it's loud, thirsty, and moving into the neighborhood. And Julia Roberts' real-life counterpart just handed the neighborhood a bullhorn.
