I’m just minding my business working on the boat when this bottle comes FLYING straight at my head. 😭😂

Good thing the Spidey Sense kicked in at the perfect time. 🕷️⚡️

POV: The pad decided it had worked enough overtime for one day 😂💨

Apparently nobody told me it had already clocked out… because halfway through the job it said “Yeah, I’m good. I’m going home.” and launched itself right off the rotary. 💀😂

No two-week notice.
No PTO request.
Didn’t even finish the section.

Just YEET and gone. 🫡

Guess I’ll see you tomorrow, bud. 😂

POV: The rotary reminds you who’s actually in charge. 💀😂

Everything was going great… right up until that machine decided it wanted a shot at my face.

One little grab and that polisher came back at me REAL quick. 😂

Just another completely normal day restoring boats.

At least the gelcoat came out looking good. 🤷‍♂️✨

That first photo tells the story, the black gelcoat was heavily oxidized, chalky and completely lacking depth and reflection. Black gelcoat can be unforgiving, but when it’s corrected properly, the results speak for themselves. 🔥

After working through the oxidation and refining the finish, that dull black came back to a deep, wet-looking gloss with some serious reflection. 🪞🚤

The best part? This isn’t paint. That’s the original gelcoat brought back to life.

The camera doesn’t always capture just how much work goes into a restoration like this.

This boat had random oxidation throughout the gelcoat, ranging from light to moderate and even heavy in certain areas. Every section required a different approach to achieve an even finish.

Our process:
✅ Medium-cut compound with a yellow wool pad
✅ Machine polish to refine the finish
✅ Protected with a 6-month marine wax

The end result? A finish that honestly shines better than the day this boat was painted. 🤯

This is why professional paint correction isn’t just about making a boat look “good” it’s about restoring depth, clarity, and gloss while protecting the finish.

Not every transformation is finished in a day… but this one was too good not to share.

This Cigarette Racing boat came to us with heavy oxidation that completely hid the depth and shine of the gelcoat. After hours of compounding, polishing, and refining, the difference is already incredible and we’re still not finished!!

The best part? The owner stopped in to check the progress and was absolutely blown away by the results so far. That’s why we love what we do.

This was the worst section on the entire boat, so before recommending a full restoration, I completed a sample spot to show the owner what was actually possible.

The difference speaks for itself. 👀
