The Melba Theater will be hosting NASCAR Hall of Fame honoree Mark Martin on Sunday for an “Experience to Remember,” according to a news release.
Doors will open at 5 p.m. allowing a special time for autographs and photos with Martin in a designated area of the lobby.
At 6 Martin will entertain questions from the audience in the auditorium, followed by a screening at 6:30 of “Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby” starring Will Ferrell.
Tickets are $15 and can be purchased at Mark Martin Powersports, Mark Martin Ford, at the Melba Theater or online at Melbatheater.org.
Proceeds benefit Batesville High School’s Project Graduation.
“We were looking for a creative way to help raise money for Project Graduation and thought it would be cool to hang out with Mark Martin for an evening and watch a funny movie,” said, Brad Cheatham, Project Graduation coordinator. “We were thrilled when he said that he would do it!”
The theater holds around 410 people and event planners are hoping for a big crowd.
“It’s not every day you get to hang out with someone who has been inducted into the NASCAR Hall of Fame,” said Melba Theater co-owner, Janelle Shell. “Rumor has it, ‘Talladega Nights’ is one of his favorite movies, so the evening should be a lot of fun! I’m interested in hearing some of the questions that folks will have that evening.”
