Friday 5/12/2023, a customer came into my shop for a Smog inspection. I noticed her invoice from Jiffy L**e, which is 1 mile from my shop, had charged her $155.43 for an oil change, just before coming to me(ours would have been about $90 for the exact same service, including the filter)...I looked a little closer and saw that they had charged her for 2 quarts of coolant. While I was inspecting the vehicle for emissions, I noticed that the coolant reservoir was filled to the brim, where the full hot mark is roughly half way down the tank...and they used the wrong coolant. It uses Toyota Red, and they put generic yellow into the vehicle. I was concerned that perhaps the manager needed to educate his people, so as a courtesy, I called them to let them know. Not only did it not need any coolant when it was at their store, but they put the wrong product into it, which could void warranties and possibly do damage to the system. Regarding the extra charges...he said "you know all shops do that!" and I replied WE don't ... any shop is free to charge whatever they want on their product...but to up-sell things that are absolutely not needed, then justify it by saying all shops do it is disgraceful. They also charged for 2 quarts, when it was at most 2 cups...so perhaps 16ounces and not even possible to be 64 ounces, as the reservoir is not that big. The customer may be filing a BAR complaint. We took care of the issue as a courtesy to the customer, and the manager said he would refund her for the coolant charge.

Unfortunately, our previous business page was shut down due to a miscommunication, but we are back up with a new page and ready to get another contest for the kids going here at Certified Automotive!

We decided to do something a little different for our Easter Coloring Contest for the kids! This year, we decided to take some traditions from around the world for the kiddos to have fun with. They can color, label which tradition they think each thing is from, whatever they want! Our contest results will be posted here on Monday, April 5th for the age ranges 1-3, 4-6, 7-9, 10-12, and 13-15. The winner of each age group will be able to pick up their small prize any time after the contest is over.

Please have your child's age, name(if you are comfortable with it), parent's name, and contact number for contest results on the back of the finished picture.

We are open Monday through Friday 8am-5pm and Saturday 9am-2pm. The contest will end at closing on Saturday. Good luck to all and we can't wait to see you!
