Wekfest San Jose Wekfest USA was a very eye opening experience for me. Having been to Wekfest Texas and New Jersey. I had always wanted to get out to a California Wekfest . And I was told that San Jose was the one to make it out to. It felt like the perfect year to attend, especially seeing a lot of the OGs are starting to get active again.
Its cool to see them be competitive about their builds and taking home awards, but not taking the fun out of but still acknowledging the competition aspect out of it. As a spectator it makes much more exciting and enjoyable to know that the people put some effort to bringing out their best for our viewing pleasure. I know the cool thing for most people to do is to pretend not to care about winning and what others think, but I know how most of you all think and I know we all think our build is better than the next persons and would like to be rewarded for it. So i don’t think a little competitive spirit is bad for the community.
Anyways, I showed up ready to shoot everything in sight. But i spent a lot of time observing and looking and did not take as many photos as I intended to. We did have early access, but once the show officially started it was pretty crowded and made getting good photos tough. I’ve got a few favorites I’ll post on IG, but will have the whole set up at Southrnfresh.com.
The show was and will always be a heavy Honda show, but its roots are heavy with the Honda community so that will never change. But there was a good bit of non-Honda builds in attendance. Here are a few of my favorites from the show! I’ll try my best to tag, but please tag any of the owners!
