Vocal Athletes who are speakers wear down their voice in the same way the tread on tires wears down. Using the same place in your speaking voice over a long, or even sometimes short but intense, period of time can take its toll. Work on adding in inflections by changing pitch and see instant results in your vocal health.

Vocal Health Tip;
Limit, if not eliminate, diuretics from your diet.

Tired of losing your voice? Most people who lose their voice only focus on the minutes or hours leading up to when they were having trouble singing or speaking. Instead, take a look at the previous 7 days. What were you eating or drinking? Were you taking any medications that would have effected your voice? How much talking were you doing? Were you in dry climates? How much water were you drinking? How physically active were you? These are all questions that need to be assessed in order to get the outcome that you are wanting... to be at your best when you need to be at your best. As a professional speaker or singer, or even aspiring, your best ability, in many cases, is your availability. Don't miss out on opportunities because you couldn't perform up to your standards of excellence. In other situations, you might miss out on the opportunity entirely because of a serious vocal injury. Vocal Athletes Tip:
Sing lower notes, and with more clarity, by simply using your "speaking voice" as apposed to your "singing voice".

If you've ever had to re-key a song because it was too high for your voice, you have also realized that some of the low notes are now too low for you as well. This is a trade many people will gladly make on any song because they don't want to deal with the potential embarrassment of their voice giving out on them going for those high notes. And yet, their voice still gives out because they can't hit the low note. The low notes become inaudible, and to the artist performing, that's ok. But if you want to be able to hit those low notes consistently and with ease, begin speaking the note. You will have better vocal coordination by not allowing the vocal folds to blow apart and use too much air, which is what is undermining your ability to high those low notes. Train like an athlete and get those you've been looking for. For more information visit VocalAthletes.com
