For several years our family has wanted to serve on a mission trip, but we’ve always let something get in the way of actually doing it, possibly just fear in disguise. But the desire to go just keeps growing in our hearts and now God has presented an incredible opportunity for our whole family to serve with a Mission Team from LowCountry Community Church, our home church in Bluffton SC. In the pas
t we’ve been fortunate to be able to assist others in their missions, but now we have the opportunity to be the missionaries, along with our children Rachel and Lauren, which is very exciting. This mission trip is June 20-27 to Billy White, Belize located just about 10 miles north of San Ignacio in the mountains. We’ll be working through a non-profit organization called ROW Kids that is dedicated to serving communities around the world through education and health services. You should check them out at www.rowkids.org to see all the amazing ways they are serving and discipling around the world. The primary goal of this trip is to be Jesus’ hands and feet and put his love into action by serving in the following ways:
• making much needed repairs to a local school
• teaching God’s word through leading a Vacation Bible School for the children
• building relationships through music, sports, teaching and serving
• allowing God to work in our own lives through the personal enrichment that comes from this type of a mission trip
We’re very excited about the opportunity and experiences that lie ahead. Whatever it is that God has planned, will only be possible with the help of others. Our first request is that you pray for our family and the people God leads us to. Prayer is the fuel that will allow us to be successful as we follow His leading in ministry.
