My people ! Today was day one of a garden restoration!

My people !! These 16 new farm members needed to come to their new home and be happy and COMFORTABLE! The best way to make them comfortable is with these new Nesting pads !!!

Of course you need to give them some fresh bedding, food, water, Love and a roosting bar but if you want CLEAN, DRY EGGS from your layers add you some of these nesting pads my people.

My people ! I hope you all had a magnificent Monday. Down in GEorgia we got a lot of rain AGAIN but the plants loving it.

My people ! Our season is here (read my shirt 😁)
And as homesteaders when we grow all this food it’s a MUST we have many ways to preserve it to make it last until the next grow season.

Here is 3 ways to preserve. Now ima tell Allll Yall to follow she does all the preserving and recipes I’m just in here for a good time 😁😂 I learned a lot in the kitchen today myself.

Last thing remember when canning you want to stick to tested recipes of you want to store and have a longer shelf life. (Recipe we used below)

4 cups white vinegar
1 cup distilled water
2 tablespoons PICKLING salt
2 tablespoons cane sugar

My people here are a few items you can grow in this HOT month of June !! Now also remember with the summer heat comes w**ds and pest so while your growing that great garden this month DONT FORGET to pull some of those w**ds.

My people! LONG CAPTION BUT FULL OF INFO ‼️

Different plants attract different pest and when you grow plenty you will attract many .. pest .. sometimes !
A few tips to keep pest away are to :

1.) w**d control & dead leaf control, keep your garden clean and it’ll help keep hiding spaces for pest limited.
Pest love to hide under your plants leafs and under dying leaves near the soil.

2.) COMPANION PLANTING !! Use plenty herbs, you can plant them in small pots and place near plants that attract pest ! Dr.bronners peppermint soap works so well because it a strong MINT smell meaning you can use plenty of mint plants in your garden (keep in pots)

3.) Kill adult pest on site and search under leaves and along stems for eggs they may have laid. Use a lint roller to remove eggs easily or just be like me and use your hands.

4.) DONT OVER WATER ! Some pest are attracted to WET soil. This why having air flow in between your plants is important.

5.) if you see one bug THERES MORE ! Check daily.

6.) you can buy lady bugs and other beneficial bugs to add to your garden, DO IT ! Let Mother Nature work for you.

7.) certain pest can “overwinter” in your garden beds surviving to next season. If you have a pest infestation remove the infested plant and dispose it or BURN IT 😬 do not leave it unattended.

My people! We remodeling the homestead from the garden all the way to the animal pins and chicken coops !! I’m going to bring my people on this journey with me so you all can see what it takes.

Hard work people ! The good part is that you don’t have to do this daily. Once you get your set up how you like it then your good to go. The bad part is that you don’t know you got your setup EXACTLY how you want it until a lot of trail and error

My people ! to the RESCUE !!!

So I hooked up the restmo sprinkler system to my rain water barrel and felt like I invented a rain machine 😂😂
Your plants love consistency and they also NEED the water and the SUN .. now no I haven’t figured out how to collect and distribute the sunlight BUT this sprinkler system sure helps with the watering.

My people !!! Chop. Prop. And Drop it.

These stores gone make us spend all our dollars, everytime we go in the garden section it’s hard to fight the temptation of BUYING ANOTHER PLANT. 😬

Do this people. Learn the ART AND SKILL of propagating plants and you can reproduce all season long. You can even make new plants and sell them to make a few dollars back 🤷🏽‍♂️.

MOST plants you can do this to, I just showed you a few of them. So before you go to the store and buy ANOTHER tomato plant just think about the other 3 you already have. Chop it and drop it !!
