My people !! Knowledge is power. A lot of people ask me a bunch of homesteading questions and that’s great !! That mean I’m doing something right, BUT ya know I gotta tell you some of advice if what to do and what not to do !

Knowledge is power people.

My people !!! YES… you can grow enough food for your entire household in a small space. It’s SIMPLE AS THE THOUGHT OF IT. it just takes technique. What to grow where, what can grow together, and the best part is ALOT of our cool season crops don’t take up a lot of space and multiples can be grown in the same exact container.
If I listed your living condition down below .. YOU CAN GROW !

Apartment ✅ TownHouse ✅ a lot of land ✅
no land ✅ owner or renter ✅ renting a room ✅
college dorm ✅ ya mama house ✅

We can all grow ! Indoors and outdoors.
I’ll make a video soon updating you all on my lettuce I’m going right INDOORS but until then get your soil, pots and raised gardens ready because you about to do this with me 🤨 right ?! 😁

My people !! Honestly .. the most frequent question and comment I get is about one of you growing your garden but it’s not really producing much. Now, first I’ll tell you it STARTS with the soil .. I have a few videos from the past about my soil blend BUT as we get closer to the season change I will definitely make another one of those.

Now In this video I give you free game !! Don’t you like to eat ? Well 🤔 them plants do too. Don’t be stingy with the fertilizer either.
The benefit of a good organic fertilizer is that it’s ok if you accidentally give a tad too much. Of course to much of anything ain’t good so do be strategic. Organic fertilizer is THE BEST because it doesn’t only feed the plant it also feeds the SOIL !! Did you catch that. It’s nothing like that 2 for 1 combo.

NPK is the context of every fertilizer. Once you understand the importance of the NPK then you will understand how to make a plant get what it needs.

My people !! I think this is really my favorite gardening season. The summer looking foward to the fall !!
Why? Because we are harvesting all the warm season crops while at the same time prepping for the cool season crops to follow right behind.

My people ! Yes we are ending July (and I turn 35 on July 26 😁) but any way … it time to get started on the new round and next season of seeds. While you harvesting and still growing warm season crops don’t forget to get that extra head start .. we not early 😒 we right on time 😁.

Quick tip : lettuce needs light to germinate so just put lettuce seeds right on top of soil and mist them with some water then watch em grow !!

Cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower and Brussel sprouts all take a little time to mature so starting the seeds INDOORS right now is perfect timing. They don’t need light until you see the first growth. Once you see them sprouting put them in a bright window seal or up under ANY type of light. The closer to the light (without touching) is best. You can also start fertilizing with a nitrogen fertilizer at that point. Just lightly fertilize while the plant is fighting to get its first leaves.

Bonus Tip: put a fan near your seedlings on low for air circulation and to make them grow strong so once they go outside they are ready for the fall winds 💪🏽💪🏽

My people !! Here’s a quick list of VERY easy crops to grow. Super beginner friendly and will produce .. ALOT !!

Lettuce = cool season, fast growing.
Tomatoes = forgiving. Heavy producer. A lot of uses.
Beans = Fast growing. Space saving. Consistent
Cucumbers = Super producer. Super easy.

These are great crops to start with literally TODAY !
Start the lettuce indoors and once it starts to grow you can place in a shady area (if your in super duper hot grow zones wait til end of August to start).

Theses items will feed you consistently and help you learn how to grow more “difficult crops” (no crop is really that difficult)

My people ! I was outside feeding animals and wanted to make a video for those of you wanting chickens or even those of you who already have chickens and just want a nice video to watch today 😁😬
Chickens are SUPER SIMPLE ! they only require the same few things for their entire life ! The only thing that changes is the food you feed them after they turn a couple months old.

Food. Water. & Safety.

I also discovered we have 6 new 1 day old chicks that’s apart of the homestead. The great part about it is that I don’t have to baby sit the new babies they mama will do her job VERY WELL.
