SORCS Bulletin March 17 2026
Hello SORCS Racers,
As the acting series referee, I wanted to address a few things today. For those who donât know me, I have been involved with the series for the past 17 years, handling vending and sponsorship. When I was asked to step in as series referee, I was unsure at first. However, after giving it some thought, I was all inâsimply for the same reason Iâve done what I do for so long. Itâs all about the series, the growth of the series, and especially our youth riders. Without these young riders, we will not have a sport in the future.
This past race weekend started out very well, and I truly appreciate the kids and adults who obeyed our no pit riding rule. However, there were some issues during the morning race. We handled as much of the problem as we could without issuing a disqualification for the entire race, which would have meant no points for anyone. We have also taken action regarding course cutting, and this will be more strictly enforced moving forward.
Our goal is to grow this series and make it safe and sportsmanlike for everyone who attends. This page is a great forum for Monday morning bench racing, but if you have a problem with someone riding the wrong class or cheating, there is a 30-minute protest period once all scores are posted. This is the time to bring forward video evidence or witness statements, as outlined in the rulebook. If warranted, I will take immediate action.
As Iâve stated, we are not trying to be harsh, but as this series grows, it will take all of us working together to make it great.
Thanks to everyone who came by and spoke with me this weekendâitâs nice to know we have your support! Please donât hesitate to call or email me.
