Today's customer wanted a few spot repairs done on his driveway including pothole repair, drainage correction and building a better crown, so that's what we did. ☺️

The plan is to eventually bring in more material and build up the roadway, but they wanted to address as many of the areas as possible with the material already in place for now.

Check each photo for descriptions of each area. The last photo is an example of what a driveway looks like when it's in need of more material.

We were out by Sunny Point road today for this little cleanout which ended up being two full loads, but more than half of everything was donatable and ended up at Southern Samaritans thrift store, which added up to big savings on the total bill.

Don't forget, when you hire us for junk removal, you only pay for what we throw away. Donatable items are removed and loaded 💯 free of charge. Not to mention, we will even take your donations for free no matter which service you're hiring us for!

Southern Samaritans thrift store new location!

Thanks to the incredible generosity of all who've donated, Southern Samaritans in Andrews has quickly outgrown their former location in West End Plaza so they're currently moving everything just across the parking lot into the former Fred's building giving them more than three times the space, and our goal is to help them fill it!

So, when you hire Mountain Home and Hauling for ANY of our services including gravel driveway repair, junk removal, bush hogging and light grading, we will load up any good quality, easily accessible donations and transport them to their new location absolutely free! The resale of those donations go directly towards providing much needed services and assistance to people within our community who otherwise could not afford it.

Today took us up to Healey Fields right here in Andrews for a quick little debris cleanup. The furniture on site ended up being donated to Southern Samaritans here in Andrews along with a couple of vintage wheelbarrows and some good lumber while the scrap wood, weeds and leftover debris will be taken to our local landfill for proper disposal.

While installing a shed pad at this gorgeous 1935 home in Marble, we ran into an old burial pit full of stone, bricks and some small pieces of rough cut lumber which looked to have been in place since the house was originally built. To see how much material was in place, we kept digging down a little over a foot deep in a test area and ran into several more stones with some being over two feet thick.

Rather than take the time to remove all of the buried material and replace it with clean fill, the customer decided to leave the material in place and build the pad on top of it. After bringing in some fill from another area on-site to prep and pack the surface, we brought in several tons of stone and got the new pad ready to go.

Started out the day using Biscuit to pull the tractor over to Marble for a driveway resto and finished the day with the OG work truck clearing some junk out for one of our favorite repeat customers, and the rain even held out until just a few minutes before we finished loading up the debris. We'll head back tomorrow for a shed pad install and to bring in some more rocks for along the new gravel. Overall, a pretty good day!
