🚗❤️ Dave's Memorial Food Run 2026 ❤️🚗
What a fantastic day on the road!
Our annual Dave's Memorial Food Run took members from Anchorage to Soldotna, then on to Seward, before finishing the day back in Anchorage for ice cream. Along the way we enjoyed beautiful scenery, great food, amazing cars, and most importantly, wonderful company.
For many of our newer members, you may not know the story behind this special event.
Dave's Memorial Food Run is held in honor of Dave Smith, a longtime Anchorage Corvette Association member and past Co-President. Dave got his 1996 corvette in 2003. He found it on the internet in Rockford, Illinois. had it shipped here in a closed container sight unseen except through photo's. When it rolled out of that container both he and his wife Margo were very happy with what we saw. Dave and Margo joined the club in 2003 and served as Co-Presidents from 2004 through 2009.
A proud Vietnam veteran and 20-year Air Force retiree, Dave had a passion for Corvettes and loved sharing that passion with others. He could talk cars for hours, knew what was under the hood better than most, and enjoyed connecting not only with ACA members but with car enthusiasts from all clubs.
This run was a trip Dave always wanted to organize. Today we do this tradition in his memory. It is a reminder that while the cars bring us together, it is the friendships, stories, and people who leave the greatest legacy.
