Good morning West Central Texas! Today, cold air will continue to invade our neck of the woods with temperatures remaining steady in the 30s and low 40s. Some light freezing rain and/or sleet is possible this morning north of I-20, otherwise, fog and drizzle is expected elsewhere. By late morning, precipitation should end for most areas with a few breaks in the clouds this afternoon.

03/03/2019
US National Weather Service Abilene/San Angelo Texas

Everyone please stay in if possible. If not please drive with caution & be safe.

Drizzle continues across the Big Country and temperatures are sitting just below the freezing mark. Patchy ice is possible, mainly on bridges and overpasses from Sweetwater to Abilene and then east to Cyde and Baird. The main brunt of the colder air is working its way south and will end the drizzle later this morning, but a few hours of patchy ice this morning will be possible. Be careful out there!

How are the roads through Albany?any flooding?
The Archer City PD would like to thank the Shackelford County Sheriff's Office in recovering the stolen vehicle from our jurisdiction. Thanks to some "heads up thinking" and a Copsync "BOLO" issued by the ACPD, the vehicle was recovered within 2 1/2 hours of the initial report. Chief Perron always says, "Same Team, Different Patch"! Do y’all know anything about Rural FireTrucks on Hwy 576?
I was fortunate to have been raised in the tiny city of Moran. Also I was fortunate to have have Emory Morris as friend and mentor while going through my teenage years. He was a fine and caring man that represented high standards In law enforcement for the greater part of his life. My grandfather was Samuel Baldwin Killough who died shortly after falling from off the back of a fire truck while playing the town Santa Claus in December of 1947. He was 83 years old. His son Earl Killough owned and operated a grocery store during the 50's and 60's in Albany. Thanks so much for accepting my friend request.
Why is it we can't ride our four wheelers on private property like we were told but have a deputy on the dirt road waiting for us to come out while heading home? Ju8st asking
