Official Coronavirus statement (revised) from Lee Volkov, owner of LV Sound: The new Ohio rules regarding wedding receptions came out this afternoon and I have already seen a very mixed reaction online. I have been a wedding professional for over 30 years and what I will say is that we are a lot further ahead today (as couples planning weddings and venues/vendors that provide services to weddings) than we were 24 hours ago. Obviously, as venues, vendors, and citizens, we must follow whatever rules the State Of Ohio establishes not only for everyone's safety, but because the law is the law.

Please know that many of the venues and other vendors I have worked with through the years are often family owned companies that sometimes are already in their 2nd, 3rd or 4th generation of family members working in their businesses. I have already seen some cases of venue and vendor shutdowns and if things would of lasted much longer, I can't imagine that there wouldn't of been more closures and very soon. We at LV Sound are a 3rd generation business operating since 1988.

I promise any couple that has booked with us, that should you still decide to change your wedding due to Coronavirus, we will allow your deposit to carry over to a future date without penalty. or if we do not have your date available, we will fully refund your deposit and you will be out nothing, We will even refund your deposit if you cancel your wedding indefinitely. We have already paid back 7 deposits and moved countless other wedding dates to accommodate the needs of our clients. Just so you know, many of the refunds we paid out, were to clients where we had several hours of time spent on those weddings between personal meetings, travel for meetings, and preparation of paperwork. Again, all clients that asked for a refund got back their entire deposit and were out nothing except their time.

The one professional opinion I will make about what you can expect to see at upcoming weddings is that couples may have to accept that their big day may be a smaller group of guests than what they planned for. First off, the social distancing set up of tables and chairs is going to force some venues to scale down the total number of guests that you will be able to invite. Second, a good number of older guests or guests with young children may choose not to attend out of an abundance of caution. Finally, some guests that need to travel a far distance, especially distances by airplane, may choose to avoid travel, again out of an abundance of caution.

So with that being said, we all shall travel down this new road together, and I promise that LV Sound will do as we have always done, perform our best for you on your most special day, no matter when or where that is.

Today's Bride

The event industry has been hit hard this past week 💔 And we are not excluded from that. If we have any advice for our future brides and grooms, please postpone your event instead of cancel.

We will all get through this and weddings will once again take place, but we need our local wedding vendors around to do so. Just like how you’re purchasing gift cards to use in the future at your favorite boutique or ordering take out to help your local family-owned restaurant, we need your help right now too.

I wanted to take this opportunity to introduce to our clients the 3rd generation of the Volkov family to own and operate LV Sound. This is my son Adam and he is in charge of our photo booths and also works as a DJ. The other picture which I posted to the bottom is of my father Leonid Volkov (1941-2003 - our 1st generation) and we lovingly refer to him as "The Original Mobile Entertainer" because when he lived in Casablanca, Morocco (North Africa) in the early 1950's he would play his accordion and wind up RCA Victrola record player to parties and weddings. He later helped me start LV Sound in 1988.

This amazing ride started back in 1988 with my record collection and some borrowed equipment. It's now a DJ service, photo booth, and live sound / event production work. It's been an amazing ride and I'm proud to say that 2019 was our busiest year ever. But more amazing 2020 appears to be just as good and maybe bigger. Thank you to my late father Leonid Volkov for all of his support and encouragement to get this started and to my son Adam for being there by my side to keep it growing. Thank you to the great people who have helped us out through the years (Jim McKee at the very first gig to DJ Bill today). The pictures are of Adam at his first show in 2009 and mine first show from 1988 with Jim. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from DJ Lee!

A classic picture from 1991. Back in the day, we had so many records we even used them to decorate up the systems that I hand built, simply because there wasn't a lot of DJ specific cases like there are today. So please know when you are dealing with LV Sound, you are dealing with a company that really started out playing records, and now we are proud to be in our 3rd generation of Volkov family operation and will be proud to be a part of your special event!

This picture was taken at our wedding last night for Maggie and Joe, which was held at Guy's Party Center in Akron. The other 4 ladies I am pictured with were all brides that I worked with in the past and were all related to this couple. File this under "one of my proudest moments" as a wedding DJ spanning nearly 30 years and hundreds of couples. Happy 2019 to everyone. as LV Sound now celebrates our 31st year in operation! This was the New Year's Eve Gala at a longtime client of ours. This event involved multiple sound systems in different rooms, lighting rigs, and 2 giant video screens. We at LV Sound would love to put our expertise at your next event, no matter the size.

It all started in the Fall of 1988 at Revere High School when I was asked to DJ an after game dance for the Revere Booster Club. I was doing the school "mock" radio station on the PA system in the mornings called "WRHS", but I had never DJ'ed any type of event in my life. And get this, they were paying me to do this....Wow! I begged and borrowed from the band director Mr. Mitchell literally any piece of sound equipment I could get my hands on from the bandroom. I did the dance for maybe about 50 kids that stayed after the game, and didn't think much about after that. Then, like magic, someone from the Revere boosters recommended me to someone from the Copley boosters, then someone else told the student council advisor Mrs. Derhammer at Revere Middle School I was a DJ. Suddenly, a business was born. Thirty years later, and literally thousands of shows including many weddings, homecomings, proms, parties, New Year's Eves, concerts I have run live sound for, and everything in between, what a ride! So here I am below at the first event in 1988 and at Revere Middle School 30 years later almost to the day, all I can say is to all the clients, all the bands, all the people I have worked for, those who have worked for me, and last but not least my family, a BIG, GIANT THANK YOU! LV :)

Please join us this Sunday August 19th starting at 7pm at the Copley Circle Gazebo for the final Copley Bandstand Concert series and first movie night ever! It's oldies night with music and a classic movie! We start at 7pm with a performance by the oldies band The Rocket 88's. At about 8:30pm when it is dark enough to project, we will present on a giant outdoor video screen the 1978 classic movie "Grease". Bring your lawn chairs, blankets, picnic baskets, and non-alcoholic beverages or there is a food truck with items for you to enjoy. Concerts are free, but donations are accepted when baskets are passed around once the band starts playing. LV Sound is pleased to be involved with this event providing sound for the band and the giant outdoor movie screen.

We are looking forward to bringing out our giant 9x12 foot video screen to some upcoming Copley movie nights. On Friday, August 3rd, we will be showing "Coco" as part of the Heritage Days weekend celebration. The fun begins that night at 8pm, where kids can also tour the fire trucks, meet our police officers, and more. Refreshments are provided and the event is free. The movie will begin at 9 or as soon as it is dark enough to project. (https://www.facebook.com/events/271873646715390/)

Then on Sunday, August 19th, as part of the Copley Bandstand Concerts, we will show the classic 1978 movie "Grease". This will begin around 8:30PM immediately after a concert by the rockabilly trio "The Rocket 88's", who will begin at 7PM. This event will be held at the Copley Circle Gazebo.
