Bitter sweet seeing this beauty leave the shop today. If I had to describe the perfect customer, it would be Blair Field. It’s an absolute pleasure working for someone who understands how much of your heart and soul goes into their project and the genuine appreciation they have. He may look happy now, but that smile will be much wider once he feels this baby come to life!

These three pieces of aluminum that don’t even add up to 1g of weight are going to be tasked with reducing oil pressure loss at the rod and main journals of the ZX14/ZX14R crankshaft.

Beyond the more common modifications involving the oil pump drive gear, pressure relief valve, billet oil pump cover and counterbalancer dummy shafts, I identified some additional areas that needed addressed particularly when these motors are going to be used in car-tire chassis’s (but no less valuable in a street tire race bike).

When we get back to racing I’ll be excited to collect some data and quantify these changes.
