In 2004, “Digger” Doug Gust dominated AMA ATVMX — winning 6 races in a row and 8 of 12 on the season.
At the opening round of the 2005 AMA ATVMX season at Glen Helen, Precision Racing Products introduced its steering stabilizer to just 4 pro racers.
Those 4 racers had combined for only 1 win in 2004.
But from that race forward in 2005, they were the only racers winning.
By midseason, other top riders switched to the new Precision damper — and they started winning too.
Doug Gust, who had been under contract with a stick-style damper company in 2005 never won a single race. He switched to the Precision damper in 2006 and went on to win another championship.
Precision Racing Products didn’t just enter the market.
It changed the industry.
