Was a prior build that the owner wanted checked out, did some simple oiling modifications and corrections to previous oiling modifications, honed the cylinders, replaced a rod bearing, checked oil clearances, corrected valve spring seat pressures, corrected rocker arm shaft orientation, head gaskets that will properly accommodate the deck surface finish. Sealed up and ready to hit the track!

3-angle valve job, resurfaced valves, tip height corrected, valve springs shimmed to proper seat pressure, crack and flatness checked, and new seals.

Magnetic particle inspection gave these SBC heads some bad news, but saved the customer a headache down the road.
The yellow material is iron powder with dye. We apply a AC magnet to the head and if a crack is present the magnetic field will “leak” out of said crack and draw the iron powder to it, making for easy crack detection.

D100 freeze plugs replaced, new clutch from brewer’s performance, took 8lbs of rotational mass off the clutch/flywheel setup, remflex header gaskets(only header gaskets to use!). Adjusted the factory shifter to be able to actually enjoy the a883 4 speed.
