NED Cops Receive Praise from a Boston Resident

Five officers came in for praises from a Boston resident, a Trinidad and Tobago native, Keitha Smith Wiley, whose car was stolen on April 14th.

The officers also received a commendation from their Senior Superintendent, Mervyn Edwards and the executive of the North Eastern division during their COMPSTAT meeting, yesterday.

Here is the letter from Keitha Smith Wiley.

Head of North Eastern Division
Morvant Police Station
Lady Young Avenue and
Busby Street Morvant.

Attention: Senior Superintendent Mervyn Edwards

On April 14th 2024 at approximately 9:20 pm my Hyundai Creta was stolen from Eastern Main Road Petit Bourg. I was on vacation in Trinidad and was due to leave on April 16th, 2024. On the night of April 14th, I made a report to the San Juan Police station and although the officers were very pleasant and professional in taking the report I was not optimistic or confident in the police recovering my vehicle. Therefore, I contacted my insurance on Monday 15th April, and proceeded to put the necessary paperwork in place as I was now eager to leave Trinidad and return to the USA. I gave my sister authorisation to act on my behalf and I also gave the officers my sister’s contact information informing them that she would now be the point person to contact.

The team of officers who were investigating my matter were Sgt (Ag.) Ryan Ramkissoon, PCs Ganesh Chinpire, Kennedy Cudjoe, Gerald Eastman and Michael O’Connor all of the San Juan Criminal Investigations Department. On Tuesday 16th April, I departed Trinidad and upon landing in Miami where I was in transit I received a message at approximately 11:00 am informing me that my vehicle was recovered. The officers did not only inform my sister of the recovery but they also reached out to me and informed me as well. This was just the beginning of their excellent communication, detailed investigation and my restored confidence in the Police
