happy 61st birthday to the country that I call home even with it's imperfections, just like this tired-looking Morris Minor with a modified grille and wheels 🇸🇬

for every eye-catching classic on our roads, there are many more old cars that are deemed too boring or ordinary to be noticed...

Suzuki Swifts (or generally known as Cultus) were a relatively common sight back then, but it never shook off its image of a basic be**er car. thus it never occured for people to keep it running as long as possible.

this facelifted unit with different grille design and headlights did not appear to be sold in large numbers here, and only 1 pre-facelift unit still remains!

happy to hear your experience if you owned one before!

school may be the last place where you get to see very old cars, but curiously enough it has happened a few times like this 😂

the Mercedes W136 helped rebuild the brand in the aftermath of World War II, where it combined dependable engineering, solid build quality and understated styling.

seeing it in the carpark was entirely random, though it left shortly after I saw it 😅 this unit seems to have changed ownership since the number plate is no longer valid, hopefully you may be able to see it out and about...find out more in my bio link!

sometimes when I spot a classic car, I will take a look at its windscreen stickers since they may reveal a bit more about it's history 😆

this particular unit was previously registered on May 1984 with number plate A991 WFM. it was subsequently sent to Singapore before its road tax was renewed, and was sold by former Rolls Royce dealer Malayan Motors. to my understanding, it has not appeared publicly until I saw it 🤔

apparently it was recently converted to the classic plate scheme, which translates to only $280 in road tax compared to >$12,000 when it was on the regular scheme! such is the reality of owning one of these magnificent cars here...

not sure if anyone actually remembers uncool workhorses but as you would know from my posts, I will continue to keep their memories alive 😌

Hyundai trucks were not very common in Singapore back then, and even now seeing one is a rare sight. I was intrigued by their circular headlights and only realised that their numbers were falling only a few years later!

although no H100 trucks remain here, it still deserves recognition for doing it's job faithfully...find out more in my bio link!

never thought that I would come across this Gallic oddity that seems to have been forgotten by many!

the Renault Fuego blended futuristic styling, everyday practicality, and unmistakable French charm. Today, surviving examples have become increasingly rare and I think there aren't many left in RHD as well 🤔

I would say it deserves far more recognition among vintage car enthusiasts lovers of forgotten automotive icons...find out more in my bio link!

this US-spec Ferrari Mondial QV cabriolet (identified by its rear side markers) has seen better days; it is also badges as a Mondial 3.2 though the side intakes and bumpers say otherwise 🤔

as 1 of 282 units made for North America, it is a bit of a pity that it will never go on our roads... can't help but wonder why it has been brought over here in the first place?

gone but not forgotten: not sure if anyone remembers the existence of the Mercedes C215 coupe back then? once the flagship coupe of its time, it blended S-Class luxury with AMG-level V8 performance, yet somehow never quite captured the spotlight.

understated styling and a thirsty V8 meant it was often overlooked…but those who knew, knew.

all the more I was glad to see this wondrous package of luxury and performance before it disappeared from our roads...find out more in my bio link!

yet another car off my bucket list, especially when it is the only one in Singapore!

the Daimler SP250 may not follow the classic British roadster formula, but it's unique 2.5L V8 engine proves performance doesn’t always come in predictable shapes.

this is a reminder that some of the most interesting classics are the ones you least expect...find out more in my bio link!
