Land Rover XD Rebuild Project Phoenix

Land Rover XD Rebuild Project Phoenix "Land Rover XD Rebuild Project Phoenix" shows the previous life, loss and rebuild of my Defender Wolf MG22AA was built on April 9th, 1998.

After serving with the British Army 26th Royal Artillery in Germany, the Land Rover lived an easy life for nine years in the civvy hands of "krankenhausen" the nick under which the owner is known in the online Land Rover scene. On the the very same day, the 9th, exactly13 years and and 10 month after the LR left the factory in Soilhull, England, the LR was set on fire by a parked up Vauxhaul Astra

. While the LR was fully ablaze, the starter motor shortened out and the LR drove off, seemingly trying to get away from the fire. In the youtube video (scroll down in the timeline), you hear me "cheering": Go on drive home. The police and firefighters looked at me as if I am nuts. Time went by, but the pain to have lost the XD didnt go away. And to put my LR that has so bravely soldiered on, onto the scrapmetal heap.... No way, it needs to drive again, so here we are, one year after the fire, all the burned and melted bits are in the skip, and we do start Project Phoenix.

Took the BFA to the Czech Republic (less than two hour drive) for a few days of hiking. biking and sightseeing. LR performed flawlessly and the insulated ambulance body made the heat almost bearable, but in the end we decided to return home to chill Islay better.
