Some of the best ideas are the simplest ones: bring the outside in.

The FP48 made her world debut at the Cannes Yachting Festival, and she is all about flow. A three-metre sliding glass door turns the saloon and cockpit into one open living space, the galley sits right at the heart of the boat, and the forward cockpit and Lounge Deck offer quieter corners to take in the anchorage.

Successor to the iconic Tanna 47, with up to 2,300 W of solar panels built into the roof, she is made for long days at anchor and even longer summers.

"How far will you go?" That's the question Fountaine Pajot asks with the FP55. Having stepped aboard, our answer is: quite far.

Another world premiere in Cannes, and a first for the brand: its first sailing catamaran with a flybridge, a true penthouse above the sea. At nearly 17 metres, she adds a door leading straight from the saloon to the forward cockpit, and a Double Maestro layout with two identical owner's suites, one in each hull.

With 6,300 W of integrated solar power, she is designed to stay out longer and further from the crowds.

Made for the kind of sailing that has no fixed return date.

Depending on the shipyard and model, ordering a new yacht can mean waiting up to two years for delivery.
