The history of the famous Mercedes-Benz brand began on this day, June 23, 1902: Daimler Motoren Gesellschaft applied to register the name Mercedes as a trademark. And on September 26 of the same year, this brand was approved by law.

This new brand did not arise just like that: it was born in connection with the company’s fundamentally new car, which appeared in 1900. Its creators were the son of the company's founder, Gottlieb Daimler, Paul, and his closest associate, engineer Welhelm Maybach.
